Recovery often feels like being handed a box of puzzle pieces without ever being shown the picture.
There are podcasts, books, research studies, therapy exercises, recovery stories, support groups, and expert opinions. Each offers a valuable piece of understanding. Yet for many people navigating traumatic brain injury, chronic illness, neurological conditions, or other seasons of rebuilding, the challenge is not finding information.
The challenge is understanding how it all fits together.
More Than A Mind was created to help bridge that gap.
What began as a personal recovery journey evolved into a restoration ecosystem dedicated to translating complex experiences into meaningful understanding and practical action. Through podcasts, comics, field notes, workbooks, reflection tools, and restoration resources, More Than A Mind exists to make the invisible parts of recovery more visible.
Our mission is not to create more noise.
Our mission is to create clarity.
We believe that people often do not need more information. They need help making sense of the information that already exists. They need language for experiences they cannot explain. They need practical tools for challenges that are difficult to see. They need reassurance that they are not alone in what they are experiencing.
At its core, More Than A Mind is a translation project.
It translates lived experience into understanding. It translates complex concepts into practical application. It translates invisible struggles into stories, conversations, and tools that help people navigate life with greater awareness, intention, and restoration.
We believe recovery is more than symptom management. It is the ongoing work of rebuilding identity, restoring capacity, developing new rhythms, and learning how to move forward when life no longer looks the way it once did.
Whether you are a survivor, caregiver, family member, friend, or simply someone navigating a season of rebuilding, our hope is that you find clarity, understanding, and encouragement along the way.
More Than A Mind exists to help people see the picture on the box.
Understanding brain injury starts with awareness. Before More Than A Mind became a podcast, it began with questions.
I wanted to understand how people viewed brain injury, what they knew, and where awareness gaps existed. These surveys continue that mission of learning, listening, and raising awareness together.
Help contribute to ongoing awareness efforts by sharing your perspective and experiences.

This year I'm participating in the Pikes Peak Challenge in support of the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado. The challenge helps raise awareness and funding for survivors and families impacted by brain injury.
Have you or someone close to you been impacted by a brain injury? I’d love to hear your story — whether it’s one sentence or one chapter. Sharing your voice helps others feel less alone.
